Wow this was a great article (I got here via your YouTube video which was also excellent). I’ve been reading a lot lately on the cosmetics industry and some of the awful stuff that we’re encouraged to put on our skin. I read some things about skin lightening creams (for example: http://newcellulitetreatment.com/why-you-should-avoid-skin-lightening-creams) that literally gave me goose pimples. So I was looking for how to choose natural cosmetics which is how I found this article and now I have no doubt that natural is the ONLY way to go. Thanks again!

  28. This is such a great article! I’m sharing it with everyone! I was a huge fan of Burt’s Bees until I recently found that they were purchased by a “big brand name”. Now I’m not so sure. What are your thoughts about the smaller “good” brands being purchased by the bigger “bad” brands? Can we still rely on them? I’d love to hear your opinion!

I recommend for natural mineral makeup Orglamix, Earth’s Beauty and 100% PURE.

  32. charmaine says:

    to Mj:)
mineral oil is the commonly used petroleum ingredient coats the skin just like plastic wrap. The skin’s natural immune barrier is disrupted as this plastic coating inhibits its ability to breathe and absorb the Natural Moisture Factor (moisture and nutrition). The skin’s ability to release toxins is impeded by this ‘plastic wrap,’ which can promote acne and other disorders. This process slows down skin function and normal cell development causing the skin to prematurely age.

  33. Oana says:

Can you recommend any natural mineral makeup. What about smash box? or Loreal Paris Bare Naturale?

  34. MJ says:

Why is mineral oil bad? It concerns me to see it on the list of things to avoid; I don’t use it, but a few of my daughters wood toys have it as a natural finish and when I touch these toys I can tell it comes off on my hands.
